I get being angry that she weenied out, but is nobody going to acknowledge her indirect confession at all?

I guess I can sympathize with that-- that would have probably been well-received if she fully intended an indirect confession instead of retreating to it as a salvaging of her fumbling.
i think some people see it as a bad omen for potentially dragging out the story for over 100 chapters. its a common running pattern for romance manga like this so i understand most people's frustrations. I really love this manga and its general vibe, and I too, would hate for the plot to pad out and stretch itself thin, putting the quality in jeopardy.

What a perverted sadist of an author! First there is a cliffhanger interrupting the fluff, then a disappointment after the cliffhanger. A cliffhanger done right should not have a disappointment in the next chapter, but something so amazing that one could not imagine it.

To be honest it does make complete sense in japanese since it's so contextual, it's corny & overused but she said "I like it" basically, it's ambiguous.

Actually it's a bit on the translation teams now that I think about it. Translating to "I like you" simply isn't correct, proper translation should be ambiguous as well.
Maybe "I like..." or something like this

Like someone said before the translation of the previous chapter should probably have been "i like" and not "i like you".
People would've been way less disapointed with this translation too.
