yeah that haircut was ass, but think about it. Its not really the haircut, its the mc face and head shape. If u wanted a haircut to fit him well and make him look beautiful u would need to change his face and shape.

1) his hair definitely looks awful now.
2) as a guy, if you haven't been to a real barber (not something like Great/Sport Clips or one of the "barber" shops where it's just hot women cutting your hair), I highly recommend looking for a barber in your area. I found a guy who operates out of a salon suite and is a certified barber (he was certified in Texas so 1,500 hours to get certified), and I've never had a better haircut experience. Hair always looks fantastic and I have such a great time talking with him. It's $30 for a classic cut w/o the beard trim/shave, but it's so worth it to not have a chop-shop cut.

Edit: I was going from needing a haircut every month because once it started to grow back out it would look terrible (so the "nice" haircut only lasted like two weeks tops) to forgetting I need a haircut till almost 2 months and my hair length is actively annoying me because it stays looking nice even as it grows out again. I highly recommend finding a good barber. It really does help your self-esteem

A good barber will make the hair fit the face since you can't just change your head shape and face but yeah I get your point. It's clear the author made him a below average looking guy on purpose just from the amount of times he gets told that (rip his self esteem). I guess the author wants to say that even average dudes can get girlfriends..? Idk.
When I see an average mf in an anime or manga land a good looking girl I don't suddenly think to myself "shit maybe I have a chance",
So I don't the point really.

Not too keen on the haircut. Took me a moment to remember that that's Yoshin and not some other guy. His normal hairstyle was fine. Who knows, maybe that haircut won't be attractive to other girls, which then gives Nanami a free hand at him.
