sigh... imho using western modern slangs completely butchers the flow of dialogue. Especially when it is contextually different in meaning

page 10: Takahashi was teasing MC about his "school date" despite that even though he has "her". "Geez, look at you despite me being here." <--- in reference to page 9 when he said that Kazami and Maebashi are on a "school date"

page 16: rather than "rizz" a.k.a. chick magnet charms, Maebashi was commenting on how MC is the popular type with older women in the approachable sense. "Isn't Kazami-kun... quite popular with older women."

Yeah, the "Ice Queen" is the main heroine. These are so predictable I hate it.
Agreed.

Like I get it. The author wants to make sure the reader knows who's he's going to end up with so when the series eventually ends and he gets with that girl the fan base doesn't get anger.

However if done poorly it makes them not getting together feel artifical.

More manga should be like My Monster Secret and have the main couple just get together half way though. My Monster Secret also gave most of the girls love interest after the main couple got together which I also really liked since you didn't have to feel bad for the other heroines.

Personally I do prefer it when I have no idea who the main girl actually is. It not only allows equal investment in all the heroines but the fan conflict of best girl encourages discussion of the series.

I dunno man, I felt pretty bad for the werewolf girl. (Or technically human girl, werewolf guy?) Though I do agree it's way better when the characters do start dating, and the manga keeps going. It almost feels like a waste to not explore their relationship changing, but istg so many romcoms just have a kiss at the end like that's a satisfying ending for 200+ chapters of will they, won't they that could have ended chapter 1 since they already liked each other the whole time.
