I like how the friends and father of the MC are actually involved and aware of what is going on: I have the vague memory that in those kind of "fighting against a super natural threat" manga they are usually put aside to "protect them".

But the father behavior is weird imo, he seems way too apathetic: he's either hiding something or he's just a man that doesn't care about his wife (maybe divorced and I forgot about it or missed it?) and work is more important than his son going into Lovecraft eldritch realms to find her or he knows he can't do jack?

There was another manga like this except the girl was an alien supersoldier and the MC had a twin brother. Does anyone remember the name?

She isn't as much of an "Eldritch Horror" as much as she is an deep sea predator: unassuming appearance, but terrifying when it does its job. Hella cute tho.

@b4nji ...really not sure by what standards the gnarly deep-ocean stuff counts as "unassuming appearance"... 🤔

Plus those things are practically the exact opposite of your description - they look freaky and fierce as all get-out but are actually kinda flimsy (which they get away with because, well, so's their prey and pretty much everything else down there).
