These guys have more chemistry than half of the high school love stories by the time they end or get cancelled, haha.

Glad that they took the time to do something other than this guy failing opsec on stream, keeps it from feeling formulaic. Hope they continue pacing it well before this inevitably devolves into a typical romcom.

4. i hate it when characters hide their identity as its something bad, maybe for japanese people its reasonable, for me - Polish - it's not. We are proud of who we are and rarely hide our hobbies/employment/personality - if you don't like my true self why even bother?
They should simply move through path of Horimiya.
In this day and age, a good number of people don't hide their identity just out of shame, but also to protect themselves from getting doxxed. Too many cases of identity theft, scams, and malicious threats to the creators and their friends and families can really destroy someone mentally, sometimes to the point of 'unaliving' themselves, and the haters would celebrate it, regardless whether that creator was bad or good.

It's the kind of thing MC here is trying to avoid so his little sister wouldn't get hurt by those haters, so you can't really blame him for taking such measures to hide his identity.

This could also be a flashback before ch1 to show how they met each other from the previous chapters
I was about to pointed out this is continuation from last chapter where he just clock into his shift, but then I realize the time was a bit questionable.

The certain flashback were page 3-4 wit the dark background; that's a sure sign of flashback. But then, last chapter he clock in at around 5.30pm, this chapter, there was still light outside when he said it's about 5 hours before his shift ended.
1. A bit odd for that lighting for 5.30pm.
2. A bit odd for a cafe to be that empty around that hour for both of them to flirt that freely.
3. Also, that would mean he clock out around 10.30-11.00pm. That is quite late for a cafe in Japan - both in terms of opening hours and in terms of shift time that will make it difficult for employee to catch a train home. And there is closing time, so it's not 24hts cafe either.
4. Would make sense that he'd want to walk Ayaya back since its so late, but it wouldn't make much sense for Ayaya to hang around just to wait for him.

Even taking the assumption that he is a vtuber as well. (We don't know yet) They chat on and off stream often enough for him to feel fine jumping into VC with her off stream. They are just plain stupid to not notice especially with her vtuber being an alt color of herself practically and him using his shitty cup art as his channel icon

I have some concerns:
1. don't they stream with cameras? chapter 1 page 10, you can see camera on monitor. Also subscribers said his sister is cute so they saw them?
The other streamer was mentioned to be a vtuber, so no. I'm assuming MC doesn't use a camera purely for plot convenience.
3. as @byzantinesoul said - don't they recognize their voices and even her unusal dialect?
The people I know who do similar stuff change the way they speak slightly on stream, not enough that you can really tell they're doing it, but most people wouldn't recognise their voice instantly (they probably would after speaking to them for a while though).
4. i hate it when characters hide their identity as its something bad, maybe for japanese people its reasonable, for me - Polish - it's not. We are proud of who we are and rarely hide our hobbies/employment/personality - if you don't like my true self why even bother?
Bit different when you're a well known internet personality. Fans are fucking insane, you probably don't want to just be announcing that to every random person.

Regarding to the "hiding the identity" part everyone is discussing. It's explained in the LN that the MC is very self aware of his toxic behavior on stream may end up causing trouble for others. His sister already has it hard enough due to both of their parents passed away, and talks about family is not something you can avoid during high school life, intentional or not. He doesnt want his sister to carry the burden of having a toxic brother on top of that so he has to hide it no matrer what.

I can't say for MC but I'm worse than him at remember/notice people for sure. took me like months or sometimes , a year to finally "click" my coworker name and face without mix it up with someone else in my head. let alone voice. I don't even know how people instantly notice Vtuber voice whenever they change their persona to new one.

and like others commentor say, real Vtuber voice could be change via voice changer. or they're having their own accent for their virtual character/persona(Think if it as VA/seiyuu who can change their switch to others character they're voiced with a few seconds of voice tuning)
for example.

Tbh, it's not requirement but due to Vtuber become popular during covid era. they have to at least being good at something to rise above the average Vtuber .(good at game, good at entertaining, good at voice etc etc)

well, I doubt mangaka thought about it that deep. so they're probably just don't know for plot convenience.

ain't we have the "old man who smoking with yamada almost daily and somehow don't know she's the same girl who working behind cashier" ages ago? just don't think too much about it unless it's really too ridiculous.

2. if they indeed stream with camera and both MC and Ayaya (or whatever her nick is) watch their streams (its hardly to believe they wont and as i recognize she said she saw that stream with sister) - wont they recognize themselfes in real life?
3. as @byzantinesoul said - don't they recognize their voices and even her unusal dialect?

They should simply move through path of Horimiya.
1. MC never shown exclusively that he stream with camera. All of the images of his streams so far is just gameplay and chat
The girl was using a vtuber. You can see it in chapter 2.1 page 3.
For the sister, they was talking about her behavior being cute not her look.

3. A person online persona can be very different from their irl one. Evident by the fact that MC tried to be toxic online.
Japanese culture also play a role. Even if they find a person voice sound similar, they will most likely dismiss it as just sounding similar until proven otherwise.
Dialects for Japanese is not an uncommon thing. With most students pouring into to city like Tokyo for university. Meeting a person with a particular dialect doesnt mean anything more than their origin.
Also the dialect can also solidify a thought process of "they are not living near me".

4. For somebody so proud of yourself, why are you using a nickname?
Hiding your identity on the internet is about privacy and security. For streamers like them, having a fake name and a fake persona prevent them from getting doxxed and stalked.
There are so many stories of streamers getting doxxed and swatted. and you think they should just walk out into public and tell the world they are streamers?

do they just have zero voice recognition skills or what
I will say that voip does distort the voice enough that you wouldn't immediately recognize someone solely on voice. I met a longtime friend who I met in Guild Wars in person for the first time a few years ago, and even after over 12 years of talking over voice chag almost daily I wouldn't be able to point him out solely based on his voice.

most likely using a vtuber avatar

camera is most likely used for tracking
3. as @byzantinesoul said - don't they recognize their voices and even her unusal dialect?
you can't generalize, many people sound similar also we don't know if they did voice changers or voice altering in their mics
4. i hate it when characters hide their identity as its something bad, maybe for japanese people its reasonable, for me - Polish - it's not. We are proud of who we are and rarely hide our hobbies/employment/personality - if you don't like my true self why even bother?

the difference is, these are streamers, imagine if you end up streaming yourself you probably won't say the same way especially if you end up as someone who has a persona of a "toxic gamer" on the internet, just look at twitter and the news of fans and haters who acted on what they say they'll do.
as for the girl, its the same scenario almost all women experience, harassment, stalking etc, that's why they need to hide who they are on the net, nevermind the fact that there's a rampant case of identity theft and hackers who would want famous people's accounts
its very easy to say "just be yourself and show who you are" when you're not in a place where you have to deal with the absolute shitty people who may do harm to you or your family

1) no. He don't use the camera and she is a v-tuber, so she uses the camera but not with her real face. They based on his sister voice
2) Same as 1)
3) Hum... They did a collab two times, it's not impossible to don't remember the voice yet. But eventually I think they will. Also, I am sure she uses something to changer her voice or she change the way she talks. He also most of the times change the way he talks
4) Almost all vtubers hide their identity and they have a good reason (a really good one), he think he is doing a bad thing being a toxic player so he wants to hide it.

Idk how it is for Japan but I've seen some spanish-speaking youtubers that use a different intonation for their videos so it could be that they change their voices a bit for the streams, altho would be pretty tiring to do that for multiple hours so idk how much sense it'd make.
He changes for sure, since it was stated a lot of times.

1. My guess is they are vtubers. And those viewers were most likely just commenting on her voice/way of speaking instead of her looks.
2. Same as number 1.
3. They could both use voice changing software. He was most likely making fun of her dialect in an effort to still seem toxic.
4. I honestly don't know for this one. I guess being a streamer in Japan is not exactly seen as "good" like a salaryman job would be?
(3) I'm pretty sure that at least HE doesn't. I doubt he would turn it off while accidently leaving his stream on (chapter 1) and he was quite concerned that his sister's voice was now out in the wild.
