So..... I noticed the April Fools prank on the main website.

April Fools pranks are only good when they work. Problem is with loss of Net Neutrality people take pranks too seriously... and about several lawsuits later.... often web based based pranks break websites.
Not everyone is going to remember to take there pranks down after April fools, which long term leads to junk on the website.
Since there are already a plethora of prank uploads on the website... I thought it would be beneficial to start a thread naming all the users who uploaded pranks.

And put this in the bugs list so the moderators are sure to notice.

I will start us off...

1) Person: tristan9
Prank: Adding prank web elements as part of MangaDex
Status: Pranks broke website, uploads fail, and sometimes there is an odd white loading screen.

I guess you missed the part where the chapter and all of the pages load perfectly fine. The joke is that all the pages are just images of the "page failed to load" element

I guess if you have potato internet and devices you could have problems with it


Overall I do not understand why this thread was opened is in the support forum. It seems more like a meme review and should probably be moved to a general discussion forum.

if there's any new UI bug, you can definitely blame them on me rather :meguu:

also dw, there are already multiple hundreds of user reports 6 hours in; the mods can't possibly miss prank chapters.

just take it for what it is, your choices being one of:
  • A one-time-a-year bit of fun; explicitly listed in our Site Rules (because it's this one time a year, not some kind of "whenever we feel like it" type of thing), and the occasion to showcase some manga on the site with those silly ads
  • About 24 hours to do something else than reading on MangaDex, if you really cannot take it and the user settings option to entirely disable it isn't enough for you for some reason

Also it really is turns out to the the form posts with the most recent comments. but yeah... still going to make a thread list.

Thanks for the compilation, but maybe cool it with the tech buzzwords a bit. MangaDex being able to have some fun on their website without suffocating oversight by ISPs is literally the opposite of a net neutrality issue, lol.
