To be fair, she isn't wrong. Once you strip down all the glory, honours and such from the job that is exactly a knight's or a professional soldier's duty. Kill all who their master points at and die to protect their master.

Except that medieval knights were EXPENSIVE, trained from childhood and well equiped. Dying for their lord/country is pessimistic way of looking at it but as a certain nutjob general said: you don't win a war dying for your country, you win it by making the other dumb bastard die for his.
