Nah you haven't read the latest raw then
In trying to stop Slave-Chan from getting burned alive Commoner got repeatedly kicked in the head by the villagers before the pursuer kills them. The latest chapter has Slave going back to confront the Noble's daughter and you see the Commoner's face. It's not a pretty sight.... he's either dead or suffering from severe brain damage
And I find it wierd that Hamita avoided showing Slave.
With this latest chapter I start suspecting that twist will be Slave caught that disease and went back to Princess to spread the infection.

We will see.

He made me go check.
Nothing really that crazy. They get captured, she almost gets burned at the stake, the 3rd pursuer catches up to them and beheads the cultists, he beats the slave in a fight, and she reminisces about her past. That's it.
so shes gonna die anyway

It says he's dead in that last panel. All right. That's a wrap
From what I see there's a 50/50 on that, since we can't actually hear the way she's saying the "nano" bit, which can be indication of both an assertion and a question depending on the intonation.

They way people were rending their garments over spoilers I thought something really fucked up was going to happen, seems like a standard tragedy in any other manga with a swerve into revenge.
Tourists have diluted overall reader abilities and expectation of pattern recognition, mental fortitude and patience.

I'm going to huff every last bit of my copium supply and say this twist is TOO straightforward for the mangaka's work. He has to have another final twist for our commoner, surely.

Nah, that's just the brat's speech mannerism. She ends almost every sentence with "nanoyo" or something (from my memory).

I guess Commoner kun will be lighter to carry around with one leg less :02:

The ironic part is that its probably spread by rats and fleas. And cats eat rats. lol

The protagonist did this to the kingdom

The water cult was holding the plague at bay but they just have too ruin everything.

The water religion was right
Plague bacteria doesn't live in water, it generally lives in rodents and the fleas that live on them.

Maybe the author doesn't know that, but I'm going to assume they did the basic research.

I wonder if the twist is that through her arrogance, the slave invariably ends up causing the downfall of everyone she has ever served. And after this, she goes on to work for someone else? And the cycle repeats itself.
