You know at times like this I like to quote a very near and dear song to me and it goes ahem "I want to know-w-w, have you ever seeeennnn the rain.

This kind of scenario is always super weird to me. Asahina EXPLICITLY gets a lot of confessions. This was written into the story. She even typecast this guy as being that type of guy.

Is she not used to this? She's shaken and apparently at a loss for what to do even though she has already dealt with this situation multiple times.

And I know. This story actually isn't that bad. He says unqiue things about her new friendships that couldn't have been said by other guys. And it's also true that just because she has experienced it before doesn't mean she can't be scared.

But my issue is that it makes it seem like a setup to get her closer to the male main character, Maki in this case. It makes it seem artificial.

TL... I think it would have been a lot worse if she had accepted Maki.
Imagine her reaction when she finds out he is playing not just with an adult woman, but also with a middle-aged ugly bastard... while she was dating him... that would break her.

Hopefully the playboy (not Maki), steps on a lego, falls down the stairs and lands badly...
