This artstyle feels familiar to that manga adaptation with the MC helping a foreign student that had just arrived, I don't remember the title but recall lthe story well, he was hated by his sister and mother because his father was gone and they leashed out on him, he lived on his own and with the help of his father friends that were in a american military base.
