Damn why are dads in manga so overprotective. She's an adult already, she can take care of herself. If I ever become a dad, I would be the chillest dad ever.

As a father of a 3-year old girl, I ain't saying I'm planning on becoming like that guy, but kids are so freaking helpless and at the same time so sweet (or mine is anyway) and imagining something happening to them makes you die a little inside, and I can imagine that when they get older and they start living their own lives and you gotta let them expose themselves to the real dangers of living in the world without being able to interfere or do anything about it, you get flashbacks to back when they were helpless and you get this same super intense reflex to keep them safe from harm that you used to get when they were small. Becoming a parent is super scary in a way, because it creates an entirely new worst case scenario in your life, which is worse than death.
