@Rozzak I think it's a pretty black and white case of "living my life in black and white and you gave it color" kind of thing.

Living your life as an effectively soulless assassin, and finally confronting a different way to live. I dunno.

@Bluubuckets Killing her would be confirming all of Jack Raven's suspicions about Kufa. How does one of your best assassins end up dead on a check-up? There's no explaining that away, he's clearly hiding something. What he did here was his best play.

Well like on the top said, i also didnt agree with heroes that let the villain alive but in this case yeah you cannot just kill medea because it will make jack raven guild become more suspicious to kufa

It just never felt like there was enough of a reason for him to give a shit about Mareida. He went from “I’ll murder you” to “you are the only thing that matters” so quick, and without her really doing much other than show off how hard a worker she is

@Marchimarch Yeah, half the commenters on sites like this will never care about that sort of thing. Logic in the given context be damned, they just want every character they even slightly dislike the actions of dead as soon as possible to get them out of the way. Even in some random romcom or something, you'll see people trying to wish some love rival or something out of existence. There's no actual consequences to it in comments about imaginary people, so they prefer to act like complete psychopaths about it to... vent I guess? Kind of like having a bad day and taking it out on random NPCs in GTA or something.

I agree, the last thing he want is when the whole assasin guild targeting her, and the fact that Kufa is only an agent in the guild made me think that there is someone stronger than him in there.

Does the vampire need any other reasons besides that? He clearly enjoys having a blond little lady to strip, bully and corrupt.

Most of you saying that he should just have killed Madia are missing the point. Re-read the first chapters: his mission was ONLY to ascertain if she had paladin powers, and if she had not, kill her and disappear. Everything he did after ascertain that she had no powers was NOT part of his mission. Killing Madia would have been the definitive proof of him betraying them. Do keep in mind that his guild is a guild of professional assassins working for nobles, having the full guild as an enemy could be too much even for Kuufa. He kept her alive and gave her a kind of "report" to justify what he's doing as to prevent the guild from actually sending someone even more powerful, and possibly even more than one, to just kill them both.

Mmm, now this is what I wanted: an actually good reason for the main character to let an antagonist go free. As previously stated by the more intelligent members of the comment section above, Kufa cannot risk killing Madia as that would definitely tip off the guild that he was hiding something, something big enough to kill a fellow member of the same guild.

That aside, she is very uwu... I'm sorry, guys, but I'm still adamant on liking Melida...

Kufa's personal mission is to make Melida the hope of the downtrodden
If she fails, he'll kill her
If she dies, mission failed
If she becomes a target because her handler is going rogue, how is she supposed to get anywhere in life when the very structure of Flandor is out to snuff her out?
Moreover, if he's a traitor - where the hell is he going to go or run? He's not human, he's partially one of the beings that Flandor is fundamentally opposed to. He likes the life he's got going on with this mission, there's no sense in killing his sibling just to fuck everything up.

I don't mind leaving Madia alive. She's cute, after all. If Madia had been a dude... Nah, in that case, off with his head.
