Seeing her putting herself down as a burden hurt my heart. Good thing mother told her she wasn't a burden at all. That was heartwarming in the end, so nice.

And of course the Ayakashi got found out spying on her. lol.

Conversations at 5am can indeed go everywhere.

Also this chapter was uper painfull, I relate way too hard to Mahoro here. Not like it helps when your parents tell you that you aren't a burden though.

Thanks for the update, it's always a pleasure to read this series <3

"you're not a burden and I didn't sacrifice anything"

Yes, because your daughter IS the one who sacrifice herself for your happiness. And then just left her "alone" again. Gosh

@MoonlightFairy IKR? XDDDD this decision still doesn't make sense at all!!! "I'll be away enjoying my hobby away from you and my husband for some years... But I'm doing this because of your sake!" how does that work ??? she wanted to give her space? that can't be it because after all SHE IS LIVING BY HERSELF in her grandma's home, already away from you and her dad, her mom being in Japan or Transylvania won't change anything if she's already staying by herself.

AND OMG I hope is not because she wanted to learn about the occultism from different perspectives... Because there isn't a better place than Japan itself to learn about their own spirits, and the rest can be learn in a month or 3 using google.

My mind hurts... well, at least I'm glad she wasn't a trigger for drama.

@Serenata can't also forget about the part she's like "hahaha sorry if we get a divorce" she legit doesn't seem to care about the husband....I actually think none of them do which man feelsbadman since he seems to be the only one who's actually worried about the ayakashi somehow life draining MC to death like he thinks happened to his dad, like he might've done stuff wrong in the past but he's def the most normal thinking person in this series imo

I think Mahoro's mom's reasoning is obviously flawed in many ways but it made it possible for Mahoro to keep the house and live there which was what she wanted.

Sacrifice my ass, Mahoro's happy where she is right now. She saved her grandmother's house, she lives with her friends and has a fluffy slice of life existence there with them.
I feel bad for the father honestly, he just wanted the best for Mahoron and bada bing bada boom, everyone left him
I agree with this, but either way someone was going to get hurt and be at least a bit unhappy with that situation. Both sides had good reason not to give in as far as they were concerned. Not exactly a recipe for an immediate happy ending.

The mom probably left on her trip to see if she could gain perspective by stepping away from this issue for a while since she ended up somewhere in the middle herself, not to mention learning about various things that could help. Letting Mahoro go take care of the grandmother's house just helped give the father and daughter some space to keep them from straining their relationship any further in the meantime, I'd say.

Man, this was pretty heartwarming. All we have generally seen so far on the family side is the trauma and now we have started seeing them starting to work it through in various ways. It complements Mahoro's growth is her everyday life so far.

"You're not a burden"
And then she leaves to on a world tour, great way to make your kid not feel wanted.
