....wait, that's it?
Okay...well...um...thanks for the run as always team pixie, did awesome work!

But, yeah, that was kinda...unsatisfying end after the year wait, i'm sad to say. Gonna have to do another readthrough cuz i genuinely can't remember why guy was in there in the first place. Also, that was a pretty lame way to go for him. Off button hypospray then fingered to death. I mean, whatever works, I suppose, but for this supposed badass to just go out like a punk? Bit of a letdown imo

Getting weak knee'd and then fingered to death is not how bro should have gone out

I'm confused as to what the hell is going on at this point. It must be high art or some shit.

Backstabbing has been a staple of this series, but holy shit :wtf:
Also, can anyone confirm who was the assassin? I'm not recognizing that name, but I did thought he could be that assassin karateka from last order.

It sounded like the dude who killed him was an artificial intelligence and not actually human.

Team Pixie Dust are you going to work on the new series?

Oh yeah, there's that point, too. What the fuck is that Gergt guy? Part of the mars super ai? An alien life form?
Also, the karateka I was thinking was Rakan. So the assassin remains enclosed in shadows... :pepehmm:

Goddamn it. That was so unsatisfying. Then again, Keun meeting some heroic end would have felt ridiculous. From the very beginning, it was clear that Austad wanted Keun dead, and it was only logical that he had a plan to eliminate him efficiently once the mission was over. Sadly, an unceremonious death was all that awaited Keun—what a shame

It's the leader of the panzerkunst Einherjar necro soldiers Alita encountered in the present. Had to google it since it's been forever since we've seen them.

Yeah, just saw @Heero33's post above, with the image. Holyshit!
And thanks for letting me know. It's a sad cliffhanger of an end, yes, but... School arc ahead, maybe!?! :meguupog:
With little Alita back as a protagonist, even?!?! :kreygasm:

Hmmm... strangely despite I understanding why most here say this was an unsatisfying end for him... I don't share the opinion, or at least not entirely(?).

I think there are two reasons... first... backstabbing in this story has been something frequent, some times our "heroes" can turn the tables, and others they get screwed, I presume it would have helped if it had more foreshadowing... but I think that defeats a little the purpose of this happening(?), there is a lot I could write but I am not finding the best words, so I will leave this behind.

The second... is that this is the end of the series... but it actually isn't.

For whatever reason Kishiro-sensei decided to end "Mars Chronicles", but the story of Gunnm is still going and there will be another part, so I think this unsatisfying feeling is by design, this is like if he ended a "volume" of a book series and in the next one he will continue the story, but there will be a time jump or he will refocus the story in new directions, but he couldn't do that if he stayed at the same "book", so to speak.

Anyway, personally... I am just happy that there will be a continuation, Kishiro-sensei is an old timer, with the amount of authors we lost in the last few years... I am just happy he is healthy and still writing.

I learned to take the good with the bad, but I had fun with this series, it had a few lows for me but it always felt like discovering something.

So...I guess the story at the start of MC isn't gonna be moving forward with this new series.

This is kinda annoying.

I think most of us wouldn't be upset if it wasn't as abrupt as it was. Look at the last arc before this one, and how long Keun fought. What happened here was the classic buildup: we have a bunch of psycho cannibals and he's gonna have to fight his way out. Only... not? The main dude dies like a bitch after next to no fight, and then Keun is immediately killed. In ANY OTHER ARC this would AT LEAST be several chapters. Here? It feels like the author got bored and decided to flip the table and start fresh. That is what's upsetting.

Man, what the fuck; that was devastating. This series is really good at making you forget who the main characters really are.
