This is probably a cultural thing, but every time I see one of those characters who are so completely honest they would dig up and expose the past crimes of their own parents at personal expense, rather than thinking "what a paragon of justice", I think "what an absolute retard".

I do wish they would wait to actually check everything to make sure their parents are guilty and they didn't do it for a specific reason.

Like maybe the old kind was planning something worse and that's why they killed him. Or you know something like that. It's also possible the other guy and the consort please to kill the King and the boys father so only they would profit but something happened midway.

I know these things normally don't happen in a story like this but some deeper meaning would be nice. Also I know your father possibly did something wrong but maybe figure out a different way to punish him cause normally titles get stripped away in case like this and how would that help the people in your land that depends on you. Maybe I'm thinking too much into this lol

@Vasqueztion I guess it's more difficult to write a story without any conflict, so a strong rival is the easy thing to do.

In Bakarina's case the conflict is Bakarina herself so I guess it's a little special...

Huh. I'm glad he came around really quickly, at least. And it does take a certain level of guts to try to expose your own father.

Probably shouldn't have leaked this to a random girl though-unless her father is already in on it, and hopefully you verify the facts over the course of your investigation and don't just assume your dad did it because he benefited from it.

What I love most of all, however, is that MC treated him like an adorable earnest little boy more than a love interest. That is such a mom-housewife thing to do.

Though in that one a bitchy 'protag' (his sister reincarnated) intentionally took over her spot, so in a way she's no longer the game's protag.

And I know of 2 series from one author that is kind of a parody to the otome game story (neither translated to my knowledge)

In one, a 'goddess' create otome game then transport people who clear it to that world and watch them recreate the scenarios.
The main character is a demon who's made a 'contract' with one of the villainess in the story, and is in this world to fulfill it...and completely crush anyone who try to touch her ojou-sama.
The 'protagonist' in that one are basically a bunch of people who cleared the game and thus feel as long as they can trigger the 'event' everything will go well....
(It was some kind of otome MMO game where players can interfere with each other and the winners are the ones who manage to get a good ending in their time)


In another, a girl died and was given a chance to reincarnate in a world that her favorite VRMMO is based on.
Instead she somehow reincarnate as a villainess in an otome game that set in a suspiciously similar world (turns out they're the same world)
And so, she must now try to survive as a character who has so many death flags hanging in her life that it's a mystery how'd she survive so long.

In this one, the game's real heroine is....a psychopathic level of egomaniac moneygrubbing miser, whose thoughts are always about herself and thus is totally oblivious to how others feel.
She'd charge 'friendship fee', try to sell fake charms, befriend the capture targets to try and use their high status to open her own store, etc.
