Any time I see a story like this I just think, man, what a waste. Heath had an entire extra lifetime to love and be loved, and instead she spent it pining for the dead. We didn't get to see the "traveling", but was it really that much less lonely than her decades in the forest? I get the supposed romance of this sort of ending, it would certainly complicate the love story if we got to the afterlife and found Lily already gossiping with the second wife, but man, what a waste.

Still, I love the heck out of these two. I'm so, so glad I looked up the rest of the series after reading the published volume. All this adorable canoodling, my goodness, they dumped it right as it got to the good part.

Absolutely precious, I adore so many of these characters.

That finale, watching Heath slowly shedding in front of Lily’s grave, that got me. I had hoped the story wouldn’t go there, as it’s a real stab to the heart. But I’m happy to see Lily & Heath together again.

I hope the stable lady, Lip, infatuated with Iris confessed in-between the large time skip.

Also the Blind residence, seems like it could become a monster haven now. Kinda like “Foster’s Home for Imaginary Friends” sort of vibe.

So much to consider. Didn’t expect to be this attached to this story. We all got the chance to experience this together, I hope you all loved it, too. Just like Heath, there’re people out there willing to give an abundance of love to you, none of us are ever truly alone.
