Being logged out at random durations [Firefox behaviour]

If so, no worries: Is it normal to be asked to log back in every day or two, sometimes a week or two, at random intervals despite not having logged out or cleared cookies or whatnot? (Most recently within the last 15-ish minutes, it's not just at night or any suchlike.)

I have this same issue reported with getting logged out randomly, both on mobile and pc versions of firefox.
Personally I've just gotten used to it.

Edit 1: Oh also guess I should mention, I did not have this issue until 2024(been using mangadex since it opened up on batoto's death) not sure if anything changed on firefox or on dex this year.

Since there have been actual server-side logouts happening lately (I have experienced them too), I'll post this here:

Go to https://auth.mangadex.org/realms/mangadex/account/#/security/device-activity and check if your session (not older than 90 days) is still active.

If you can't find the session, the auth server actually logged you out and there's nothing you can do about it, except to login again.

If you can still see the session (other than a newly created one), it means the main site can't properly refresh your auth session, most likely because something cleared your site data/cookies or something blocked the token refresh request (privacy-focused tools/programs/settings can delete your data/cookies or detect the request as tracking), or you've put your PC asleep with the tab open.
The fix here is to find what's clearing site data/cookies or blocking the request and remove it or change its settings, or just refresh the page in case your PC was asleep with the tab open.
P.S. the tool/program/setting blocking the request doesn't need to be on the device you're experiencing the problem, it can also be on a network device, like the router.

I can only guess that cookies must expire at some point because I use the "Remember Me" option and never close my browser tabs or turn my computer off and still occasionally get logged out.

My computer has been up 67 days, 20:29 at the time of this post.

I've been signed out twice on the main page today on Firefox, seemingly at random, so I'm rather confused.

This happened to me while I'm still logged-in reading the forums, and refreshing both pages would result in me still signed-out on the main page, with the message [You have been signed out] popping-up every time, while I'm still logged-in on the forums. Clicking sign-in would sign me back in on the main page without me having to input my password.

The first time it'd been well past 15 minutes, while the second time felt like it'd been less.

So let me get this straight:

• MangaDex logging us out after 15 minutes is expected behaviour, and should happen if Remember Me is not ticked on when signing in.
• The message [You have been signed out] would pop-up from below when this happens.

I should then expect device activity to list Account Console, and MangaDex Forums to be signed in under Clients.

Edit: Okay, so I've been monitoring the browser console until it attempted a silent refresh, it successfully refreshed the access token, and I'm still signed in. Now I'm even more confused on why I was signed out on the main page twice earlier, and only on the main page. To be clear, this is with Remember Me ticked off when signing in.

I'm not sure if this recent issue coincides with the site recently having trouble loading on Firefox while logged in.

The next time I get logged out randomly, I'll check device activity for any changes, as logging out normally from either the forums or the main page would require me to sign back in to access device activity.
