I think the emotional weight is a bit different too.
in the LN, he was basically like, "i'll just get us the fuck out of here."
also
Ross asking him was torture for her. It was one of their first most honest moments. She didn't want him to fight, because she wanted him to put away that part of him. She felt guilty asking him to do his do. z

The satisfying payoff from the silver dragons thinking the queen's consort was just a weak ass dragon with no skills, not even strong enough to hold a dragon form and he turns into an aimbot just killing hundreds with every step.
Where can I read da novel?

Time for Leon to return to work. Being a dad is great and all, but there's nothing like knocking in a few heads

papa bear time

the manhua really is a better visual companion than anything. It skips way too much to condense it down for a shorter, quicker read, fluff AND integral moments...
I mean, that's pretty typical for any adaptation, some things just work better in one format than another. In a more text based format the audience is pretty used to seeing plenty of exposition, extra details and having things more drawn out, but, as you go from that to stuff like comics, animation, etc., things need to become more condensed and more and more needs to be shaved off to cut down on the amount that needs to be drawn and because audiences of those formats tend to have shorter attention spans (not in the sense that they lack focus, but in the sense that such things that feel good and natural in a written format tend to feel more slow and boring in a more visual one.)

As much as it sucks to lose some of that depth, it's both just not realistic to be able to retain all of it, nor would it have the same appeal in the adapted format compared to the original.

Interestingly, the reverse can also happen, where more details are added when going from one format to another because the new format makes it easier to do so comfortably 🤔

I don't like how this was adapted. In the WN, it was far more tense, with Leon sitting out the battle until the Silver Dragons were on the verge of annihilation, as Rosseweisse asked him to protect their daughter. It was not until her army was about be destroyed that Rosseweisse unbent enough to ask him to save her people as well. Here, it's just a foregone conclusion without stakes.
I don't think all of that is really all that necessary though. It works great for a novel, but for a comic it's extra fluff that would just drag things on for the sake of dragging out the plot. The way this was adapted stil carries out most of that tension and the fact that Rossweise wouldn't really prefer this option, and it very much DOES carry stakes if Leon doesn't fight, but the fact is that things HAVE to be condensed down when going from a novel to comic to animation/live action for MANY many reasons.

Yes the source material will always have more oomph to it and typically will be better described, but that's because the story was always written for the original format in question

We are at chapter 87 and Leon, the greatest Dragon Slayer, will for the first time in this series slay a dragon in a non-sexual way.

Is it coincidence or due to a traitor that they decided to attack with exactly this timing?

Time to exterminate a dragon clan. Also send a message to the other clans who left them hanging. Thanks for the chapter!!!

Uh, oh, it's here! Constantine, you signed your death sentence when you decided to attack Leon's family.

The next chapters will be epic, I suppose. Also, I think Leon and Rossweisse finally begin to realise that they really love each other.

How ironical that he will do that for his wife, who is a LITERAL dragon.
