Til now it just reads like a documentary on tv. I can tell you the endgoal of the manga in real life though. Work a job that has no use of your art diploma or draw porn, if you want to have a living wage. Otherwise work for below a living wage in the industry of comics/manga/animation.

Probably it's because I'm not learning advanced art, but as a "beginner", this manga actually taught me a lot of things my art teacher didn't teach me, something like

mixing olive color for skin color and color theory. Ik they're probably basics, but some teachers skipped them for some reason. It also taught me that art isn't all about manga and following rules. They're complex and sometimes just make no sense, but have special beauty behind them

Sure, I got bored a few times but the chapters are captivating. It's like "I want to stop but I can't stop" kinda thing, and it weirdly feels somewhat relatable to some degree

The author lures you in with a vague premise of a delinquent wanting to become an artist.

From there on you get to see the mental highs and the lows of an artist.

The author is able to convey the characters feelings in such a realistic way that you are actually immersed in the story.

No, because it has real struggle of an artist and deeply educates you about art and creative process in general. Many people resonate with that, for them it's unique. It's not for everyone though.

Notice that it's seinen. Surely there won't be Jump-style action.

Might blow your mind, but i dont rate mangas on this site, because ratings dont matter and are often fanboy massvoted anyway What helps stuff is word of mouth.

You can give blue period a top spot, but most people will still not read it or drop it even for free. This manga is the best showcase of that 20k reads on the latest chap and even getting rank 1 didnt up it.

So sorry i dont like this artstudent wanking manga, but if you think this is a top rank manga then ye idk good luck with your opinion.

I found this story when I was in my most vulnerable, and for that I'll be forever grateful. Having said that, besides a good narrative, here you'll find truly inspiring characters. Their struggles are real to the point that it hits close to home -especially for those afraid to take action. Therefore, we get a complex plot but the flow isn't tedious at all, rather you get to experience those feelings along with them.
