I know different guitars and bass make different sound, but other than the musician themselves, I wonder how many can easily tell the difference without putting a lot of effort and focus (assuming the song style is similar of course and only switching between same guitar/bass types).
At least I know I can’t.

Everything outside of the strings and the magnets recording the string vibrations does not affect the sound if it's not an acoustic instrument. It's all marketing.
