The thing is, the teacher is right to be concerned about her future. Being a gravure idol is not a long-term career path. Without a good academic record, her options are going to be greatly limited when her modeling jobs run dry in a few years.
@stillsteStunde He's roasting nothing... she actually made good points. Most of these idols don't actually last or get into pretty bad positions... and even though it's a former student, she's still looking out for her... still thinking of the worst.
And his argument? "You're cute" That is literally it.
teacher has a point though not to mention getting taken advantage of by someone in the industry or getting the interest of stalker's not only that it also leaves a bad impression when she retires from being gravure model especially when applying for a job.
idk for japan but in my country it is viewed negatively to have a criminal record (no matter how petty it is)/gravure modelling/AV and such has little chance to land the job he/she is applying for.
so, female model careers will typically only last from 16- 25 after that you're considered "old' and finding work becomes very hard, even more so if you're a graveur model
Honestly? Teacher is completely correct, gravure idol gives you no future, and not only that, but companies are usually very strict In Japan, some won't even let you date because of fans. That's very hardcore.
It’s true that there isn’t much of a career past age 25 for idols and models, but by that age most Japanese women — not just idols and models — are looking to get married and start families.
I’m not surprised that marriage and family are overlooked in these comments, because most readers and commenters here have a very Western perspective about such things. But I am surprised they’re overlooked by the characters in the story.
