I thought they might do it when he brought her home after the hotel chapter lol. They probably shoulda skipped a lot of the band member chapters if it's ending this quick and focused on ichianna but maybe author wasn't planning on ending this so soon back then lol.

I was saying this also they could do a bokuyaba highschool sequel and I think it'd still get popular. There's still Anna movie, ichikawa solo highschool life experience, different school distance relationship issues and other things author could tackle.

But romance mangas getting a sequel or continue after they end is extremely rare so I wouldn't hold out for it(maybe season 3 could repopularize it?), still hoping though. We'll probably get at the very least some occasional OVA style chapters after it's ended maybe.

the ending so far feels very similar to the ending of the sandlot movie, and i my opinion the ending for this manga is shaping up to be really good so far especially since this is the last time all of them are going to be able to meet up with such a large group of friends. It will effectively be saying there goodbyes after they all start leaving the theme park.

There's a lot of unfired Chekhov's guns in this manga, and with it ending very soon it's pretty clear either Norio didn't have a plan for them or she decided not to include them to make the story simpler

Did MDUD actually get axed? I thought Fukuda had health issues and decided to end it? I guess that would make sense though, since it also had a number of unresolved or unrewarding plot threads.

Axed as in unplanned rushed ending.
If even to call it an ending, basically it was just a couple of chilling around chapter with nothing of value and then a timeskip.
While there were a couple of big plot points, they ended up going nowhere.
