The author did mention in the Vol 13 postscript she wanted to depict the world around Ichikawa and Yamada which is why the focus is isn't entirely on them and their relationship for now. The last page makes me believe Bayashiko will somehow find out about them.

Ichikawa's view on thrillrides surely is impressive.

There's a lot of unfired Chekhov's guns in this manga, and with it ending very soon it's pretty clear either Norio didn't have a plan for them or she decided not to include them to make the story simpler.
