I predict what happened was that MC was depressed and broken potentially after the loss of his sickly little brother, and in a time of need the lil sis, by intention or not, inspired MC to keep trying. I cannot imagine there is any other reason for MC to be smitten so much to the point where he's regularly accepting abuse.

The reason he joined the trial club was because Miya told Sora she liked her Asahi. He joined the club to allow Asahi find her true love, leaving Mya free to fall for him.

Oh man, it would be some karmic justice if the little bitch ends up getting cucked because her onee-chan inadvertently nudged him in that direction. If you think I'm being too harsh, recall that in addition to being nasty to him, Miya is also deliberately trying to come between MC and Sora (as she knows of their past interaction, and wants to prevent Sora from realizing who he is).

Kind of a buzzkill after how good the last chapter was, but I guess she still ended up taking an L in the end, so I can't complain too much.

IMO lil sis gets bad treatment by being the story of Akizuki in his pov (also that the story clearly wants to go Akizuki x Asahi, so if reader doesn't like lil sis as much as Asahi, doing the change of love interest is easier).
magic trick chapter made clear that she is just not a rude bitch, she's just like that bc MC is very forward with his advances after getting rejected (also the fact that lil sis crush has a crush for MC makes it easier for her to not like him at all). Also this chapter kinda let see that she has a conflict of wanting her crush happy even if that means that she's with MC, but she also want to be with her. Although this last one might be just me seeing things in no more than she being jealous of Asahi wanting to go to the cinema with MC.
