I hope there's a parameter that allows for physical growth for Mamoru so he can be with his friends as they grow older. I guess switching body models would be the go-to but that sounds extremely expensive to do every five years, unless they say it's covered by the government for some reason.

Mamoru's humanoid body was a gift from Ichijou Robotics, who have infinite money. They get a lot more value out of studying Mamoru as a spontaneously-occurring, self-evolving artificial consciousness than what Takuma could ever afford to pay them.

I'm starting to get Millennium man vibes from Mamoru. Maybe he'll end up mostly human and get together with that one cute girl he met his first day.

@Yanqui9 Do you mean Bicentennial Man, the 1999 sci-fi drama movie starring Robin Williams? There is a 1999 TV movie called Millennium Man but it's the opposite, with the brain of a dead man being put inside a robot (sort of like Robocop). I could possibly see "Millennium Man" being the foreign title of Bicentennial Man in some languages.

If any robot in this manga wanted to go the Bicentennial Man route of having their robot parts being replaced by synthetic human organs, it would probably be Erisu.

Yeah, I can see that. She hates robots and values humans so much (due to her software bug) that she could see that as an option to at least "kill" one robot and adding one new human without upsetting a human.

To me it looks like maybe the kid tried to maintain his balance (while yelling) for a few seconds, and then his friend caught him but couldn't pull him back in or hold him for more than a few more seconds. Still super-humanly fast, but perhaps not impossibly so.
Yea, on page 36 it looks like his friend is still holding him.

While Jirou Sugiura has done roughs for a couple of other manga lately, his hiatus from drawing My Wife Has No Emotion seems to be coming to an end as he's posted the first four rough layout pages of chapter 56 on his Twitter.

I'll post the link to the full rough layout chapter when he posts it on his Pixiv here.

It starts off with Mamoru vastly outpacing his classmates at a running event. I'm not sure whether they'll make him slow down to "human" level to be fair.

ADDENDUM (October 31st): Surprisingly, Jirou Sugiura is now posting roughs for chapter 57 immediately after finishing the roughs for chapter 56.

Jirou Sugiura retweeted this tweet by SatouTubo6: apparently, she (?) is the person who helped Jirou Sugiura with the design for the humanoid version of Mamoru.

I suspected someone helped him with the design since it feels more anime-ready than most of his designs. I thought it would probably have been someone from the staff of the BokuTsuma anime but I'm not sure whether or not this SatouTubo6 person actually worked on the anime.
