Has anyone else read ahead yet? I took a peek at the latest two chapters that were available to read through the official raw link and I have the feeling opinions are going to continue to get worse.

From the looks of it, they're in the middle of fighting off monsters and another group of humans that include other men, with at least two scenes of these guys groping/playing with both the main heroine and the first rape survivor we met. Classy. I might have to see if I can track down the earlier chapters somewhere to try to get a better understanding of what's going on, but I can't imagine I'll be impressed; I mean, I haven't even been motivated to remember most of these characters' names as it is.

From my understanding + loong past WN reading, this school quite popular as a "dump point" for a rich problem child, problem child + their ego + new found power + survival = tyrant, "I have the power, I get what I want" mindset I think...

Sounds about right. It was already revealed just a few chapters ago that this school was a place wealthy people sent their problem children to. (And not just the happy/funny kind of problem children, but the sociopathic ones, too.)

And given the bullying the MC had been enduring before everything went down? Yeah, that shit does not surprise me one bit.

They must have been transported right next to a whole town of orcs. Many have already been defeated, but more keep coming.

It adds realism. I have read a whole lot of isekai, but I wouldn't necessarily call it an obsession. It's there a lot, but not through and through. It's also exceedingly predominantly depicted as vile, as it should, which doesn't make it seem weird. Unlike slavery. Many an isekai author goes a long way to depict slavery as something okay, in the extreme cases as something positive, even desirable. That bothers me a lot. Rape is something sad that has happened in all wars in RL as well, quite a lot. Before the modern times, it happened everywhere in what you could call an organised manner even outside of wars/occupation. Well, it still might in some of the less fortunate countries. So, it's pure realism.

Realism to a story about magical orcs invading kids who level up? Nawh, you could have the same effect just having the orcs kill and maim people.

Rape is a lot more intimate an act than just mindless cruelty and thus provokes a stronger sense of disgust from the reader. And, again, it's partly for realism. The story being a fantasy isekai doesn't mean things can't be depicted in a realistic way. You can have realistic elements in a fantasy setting. I think it's fair to say orcs and goblins generally being depicted as rape monsters is realistic to their above-average intelligence and cruel, animalistic nature for a species without females. No one is arguing it's purely for realism, but it does add a touch of a dark, gritty reality to what would otherwise make this a pretty standard, run-of-the-mill fantasy. That's what makes it impactful from a reader's standpoint. Characters suffering in a human way makes them more relatable and easier to empathize with. It's also probably fanservice for the fat, ugly bastard, rape-enjoying crowd, bless their souls.

From what I remember the guy MC was going to kill in the first chapter, continues with his power games even in an isekai, his rich politician or whatever relative isn't in this world, but people following his tyranny, followed him far enough in this new world that once he started getting level ups, he just transitioned to using more physical violence than political/social.

I wonder if we'll ever see other monsters besides orcs. Or other dudes.

Yeah, monsters inflicting death or injury doesn't have an effect on people, lot of people cheer when Godzilla drops a building on civilians, but the one dude taking advantage of the chaos to drag a woman behind the rubble is instantly and rightfully hated.

Isekai genre isn't known for innovation. Copy-pasta is the name of the game. The Japanese audience expects orcs to be rape machines, so the authors will deliver.

You know, a giant kaiju monster may be just what this story needs. I haven't seen an isekai daring enough yet.

I wrote a LN summary in a thread for this manga itself (i know that not many people read these but i didn't want it buried in chapter discussion) - https://forums.mangadex.org/threads...hou-wo-tenbin-ni-kakeru.1088013/post-23241909
If you want spoilers about that situation, it's either part1 or NTR.

I don't understand Isekia mangaka and their obsession with rape. Like, it doesn't add anything to the story.
It adds realism, immersion, dread and stakes.
What else would orcs do? It seems like you're an orc noob bruhhhh

I'm not going to complain about the rape in this story since we all knew what we were getting into when we signed up, but I do think arguing it's for the sake of "realism" in a story about orcs and video game level up systems is silly.
