Basically, touch has a much more important role to play in our cultural reality than we realize because of the importance we give to sight today. To make it simple, when we know what touch between two individual can represent in a culture, seeing it being so strongly sought after can be emotionally charged. In this case, if we assume that physical contact between a man and a woman is normally kept to a minimum socially, and in the case of Reszurre who wasn't able to and Might associate touch with trauma, seeing her so strongly wanting to initiate touch is showing healing and wanting to be closer to mc.
This might sound obvious, and it kinda is, but that paper I wrote made me more aware of touch in stories, something often overlooked.
