@dokidoki I hate to say it like this because i don't like to make assumptions. But from what I've seen, you and other's don't actually sympathize with -her- but rather her situation. All I see in comments amounts to "She's been traumatized so it's okay" None of you have listed anything redeeming about her, or an any reason why we should wait and see about her other than "she's been traumatized" that's the entirety of the argument you guys present. You are giving her a free pass because of the trauma. And while pretty much everyone agrees trauma makes you do illogical things, that doesn't magically make those actions right. Otherwise you're sitting here saying she can do whatever she wants to whoever she wants and she shouldn't be judged for it because trauma. Do you realize how bad that would be? One of the important things to helping someone live in society with a trauma is helping them understand the significance of their behavior. (Of course more important is helping them cope with the situation but this is still a step.)
I also reread the chapter and the only thing the MC says about why she is mad is "I was six years too late" If you're going to say that is why she is mad, then I'm sorry but that is just insanely selfish and horrible. It would be better if she was projecting her anger on him just because it had no where to go. The MC wasn't 'six years too late'. He nor anyone else had an obligation to save her. But someone -did- save her. If we're going to talk about time, saying the MC was late and justifying anything with that, is as ridiculous as saying "She should've just made money faster." You are using the MC's own complex about saving people to justify someone's unreal expectations.
And as for people waiting, then what would be the point of having discussion threads after every chapter if people can't discuss things as they happen in the story? Are you saying we should only talk about an arc after it's entirely over so that we know the end and significance of everything first? If you actually believe that, why are you even in the discussion thread? Or are you giving her special treatment and just saying we shouldn't talk about her till the end? People's comments are reactionary, and they will change with her behavior for the most part. They're acting to what they see -now-. If she starts acting better most people will have less hostility towards her. Even in real life that's who most people judge people, the statement about 'first impressions' would've exist if people didn't evaluate others moment to moment. Why should we not do the same with characters in a book?
