...It is taking a lot to not drop this. That is the stupidest reason I've ever seen an author use to hide plot to reveal later. It is NOT okay for kids to have secrets with their guardians/parents/whatever. That is the WORST case of woke parenting I've ever seen. If this was real, she would grow up to be a spoiled lying asshole. You should listen to your kids every dark secret they have, and not judge them, but try to guide them to better themselves and fix the mistakes they can and help when you are needed.

yikes marcelo, calm down. I understand what you're saying but this is an adopted rando cursed girl who went through a lot. It sucks she won't open her heart right away considering she sees him as a father figure but she's clearly traumatized and has a hard time talking about it. They may be family in name but it isn't such an easy thing to make possible. Giving it time is the best solution and mc is willing to give her that.
