i wonder if the cursed ring was draining his magic power and sending it to the members of the hero party and they started failing when the curse was dispelled.

Lola (21)? Are you sure her name isn't Loli instead? Nobody get that reference? Okay...

Hmm... maybe the Demon King cursed the main members of the hero party, and to compensate, they used hexes to transfer their curses onto other people?

Failing quests, buying expensive potions, leaving in desperation... doesn’t that sound familiar?

Edit: if what I said is close to the truth, what’s the condition needed to transfer a Hex? MC is strong so that makes sense, but why Ravi?

@Talismaster Maybe it is random? They don't actually control who it goes to, so it was a godsend when they got the MC because he was so strong that he could keep the curse for a longer period of time.

@Talismaster yeah seems similar to 2 stories i can think off (forgot both names)

1. shield hero kicked out hero party with 9999 shield point
2. Red being kicked out of hero party because mage was jealous of MC, eventually meeting up with and an ex-party member "Lit" after starting up store and they decided to work together. (hero = sister, has a really bad case of bro-con)

after the MC leaves in all 3 story, the party can't seem to do any correct and eventually breaks or so.

@Lazyxbum
I was referring specifically to Ch1 Douglas. After his glorious back story it kinda jumps straight into the despair of trying to remain relevant, despite heavily using potions and failing quests.

@Boomburst
Could be! But giving them a cursed piece of jewelry seems to be part of the process... Hopefully this is answered soon.

@DarkEboreus i'm under impression that the curse doesn't drain his mana.
he still need to spend the proper mana amount to activates a skill, and then the curse also reduces his max hp on top of that.
maybe they steal those max hp, but i don't think a mage's hp gonna be worth it.

@Talismaster well, MC dispelled the curse on him quite easily with the generic dispel hex, so it's weird that they need to go out of their way to transfer it rather than simply dispelling it.
and MC claims that the party is stronger than him now that they've grown up, so no reason to think they can't dispel something that the mc can.

@NovaXII but same concept the party was protected cause Douglas was just that good so when he left they started getting beat by things he kept them protected from

@lazyxbum,
Got some more to add for your collection. Mage from the hero party was replaced with two new fighters. The mage later purchased the book that has knowledge on 'everything'. Forgot the name of it as well.

Yuusha no Kawari ni Maou Toubatsu Shitara Tegara o Yokodoroi Saremashita - Basically the guy is born with the false hero symbol, but was the one that brought the demon lord to his knees. The 'hero' did the killing blow and is now famous in the kingdom. Due to an argument, the hero proclaim the 'false hero' tried to kill him and has fled to the country side. The guy always wear a full set of armour, so you don't see his face... yet.
