If you don't know a lot about it Eugenics does sound like a good idea. The main problem is that you can't actually do it with human beings because there's no other surviving member of the homo species. You see when it comes to Eugenics something you have to worry a lot about is inbreeding. And without there being any other members of the homo species there's no way to deal with the inbreeding meaning any attempt at Eugenics will always fail.

They aren't employed by the guild though, they're freelancers, and the guild works as a job posting site rather than any sort of employment. So comparing it to a usual job, and the conditions a job can impose, isn't quite right.

Assuming the Guild has conditions for being able to apply for the jobs they post - I doubt that 'you HAVE to partner with who we tell you' is one of them, given that your life lies in the hands of the people who partner with.
Not to say such a condition isn't possible, but it's very unlikely, and to the point where it's kind of unbelievable.
