I just started reading the first Baki manga, but I read Tsuyoshi, where an average height japanese guy with glasses defeated a russian super soldier, who's a masochist and extremely gay for Putin. Man, fighting mangas are so, so damn stupid and that's awesome

I agree, people think too much about realism, we are speaking about a comic with fake characters, if she got knocked down with the first blow it would have been boring and anticlimatic not? Now you can't predict what will happen, so is now interesting and you crave to see how the scene will end, the author know this, even if she lose in the end. Realism unfortunately is boring, because is the standard, you see it every day, 95% of the times is predictable. But fictions are not conventional and so obvious.

I guess people's main issue is that the manga depicted itself as rather realistic. It is unlikely that a highschooler, even one who is highly trained, would win against the champion. It's like people were expecting this to be more ippo than baki (but this is much more realistic than baki).

It’s anchored on realism given that it also expounds on real-life martial arts techniques but author needs to give it a spice and make it somehow above the realms of realitic fights like similar fighting manga such as baki and kenganverse.

If the author chooses a plot in which the girl is not a human, I expect a big plot twist.

I'd totally dig that. Love major plot twists/twisted premises that aren't revealed right at the beginning. But I highly doubt it for this manga.

As someone who has interest in building a (simple) fighting game, I like the idea of a "hidden top tier" woman fighter taking on highest level men fighters, without magic or Ki, but it just challenging from a writing point of view.

She is clearly outclassed from every point of view... I am actually curious how the writing will continue from this point.

At certain level, fighting mangas will come up with "perfect movement and energy efficiency" like in Kengan Omega and even Dragonball. But I don't know, feels cheap...

I get that this is manga, so I am not going to complain too much "oh but she got hit by this massive dude like 20 times" but... yeah this is very idiotic. No, they are not "evenly matched" bud. They can't be.

As I said before, Kakegurui writer can't write high stakes to save their life. It's not even about her surviving this beatdown, it's about her winning (because let's be honest, she either wins or there will be a sort of tie, she is not suffering any real consequences here). Someone talented would have had girl have a massive reality check here, maybe even put her to coma just so she realizes there are some low level thugs and there are MMA fighters

Highschool girl beating a MMA fighter whose life dedicated to fighting, who's twice her size and power, has more experience than her and can predict her moves, is not even worth a discussion. Until she pulls up a gun or a sword or casts a magic spell, she's cooked.

See this is where you already give away you don't know what you're talking about. Training is all well and good but numbers matter and they had the dumb trope of going one at a time with her when that's not how this works. There is no martial arts that can deal with numerous people because that's getting your ass beat.

Just admit you feel weird about reading a manga where the femc is powerful this time and dealing with martial arts stuff instead of trying to do backflips justifying why one impossible feat is somehow more realistic than the other impossible feat. It makes you all look stupid. Just drop the manga at this point!
