Considering that everyone in this series is fucked up I'm leaning towards the uncle saying that to Nagi to manipulate her. I'm guessing that he left to go work in Tokyo because the trope dictates the older male needs to distance themselves but is forced back into that situation and succumbs to their feelings. Or maybe he had feelings for his half sister but she left the house so he felt like she abandoned him and when her daughter came into his life he transferred those feeling onto Nagi. Like people are saying he's going to control her life and this was just the first step in order to break her. He's then going to set insurmountable conditions in order to get him to "forgive" her that hinge upon her following exactly what he says to do. As much as I don't want it I also have the feeling that besides forcing her into the gavure and idol industry he's also going to be her pimp. I have this weird feeling that it's all some sort of delusional revenge against his sister but since he can't enact it on her anymore he's decided that Nagi will be the surrogate. Story wise it kinda of explains why he would break Nagi down like that out of the blue to emotionally shatter her to make her completely dependent upon him with the end goal of abandoning her as an empty husk like he felt his sister did to him.

sigh... that feels so very cheap...
Would have been better if she had found out and came to that conclusion by herself.
But the fact that an adult who is also her only family member alive tells her that like a moron just to have an excuse for cheap DRAMA and that be the reason she's like that is dumb and lazy just to try to make it more "shocking".
Cheap is the right word. Seems like the author took a dirty shortcut that honestly devalued all the affection that was building up.

Makes me think this was a “I’m gonna give you a puppy but take it away after you fall in love” scenario that was used just for the shock value. Very cheap shock value.

Respect your audience. This is an insult.

You have a point, this might be the setup to the uncle grooming/manipulating her.

Also use paragraphs, it’s hard to digest a block of writing.

I read the situation as him gaslighting Nagi to be alone so they can be miserable together. There's hardly any reason to actually blame a child in that situation.
Yes, this, THANK YOU.

This guy is a goddamn liar and he doesn't give a shit about Nagi's mom and dad. He's just looking for a way to get into her mind and manipulate her! He's not "a young man in mourning" and acting out, he's a POS predator who saw an opportunity to make Nagi feel immense guilt about something that clearly was not her fault, thereby turning HIM into the only one who can "forgive her."

And he will make her work to keep that forgiveness coming, just mark my words.

This continues to be the only 10/10 manga I've ever read. I dont know how he does it.

I don't think them staying at the house would be any safer. I mean, them actually going out to find her would drastically increase their chance of survival, at least they can spot the tsunami earlier and run to higher area instead of sitting inside the house not knowing a thing
Mmmm true true

No, it means probably the parents can't evacuate properly because they were looking around for their missing kid they ended up being late.
But they wouldn't have died from the tsunami if there was no tsunami, and nobody knew anything about a tsunami.

I can accept that Nagi might still hold herself accountable, but it's still unreasonable for anybody else to think that way-- much less inflict that understanding onto her.

That was a bit of an asspull. I had expected some darker, like him being a creep or something. This feeels hamfisted and rushed compared to the rest of the story so far.

It's just the beginning of the real fun.

Considering how Nagi flashes back a lot when experiencing some things, consider domestic violence (gen btfo'ing her made her flashback), gaslighting (what Yuri had been doing to her just now) and possible pedophilia into the menu until the days uncle introduces Nagi to the industry.

Bruh, this fucking manga just never stops with the corny ass melodramatic plot points. I decided to take a look at the latest chapter because "Dropped" manga still appear in your updates, and lo and behold, I still see I was right to drop it.
