^ I really like and vibe with this line from Nagi. The absolute selfish and infinitely self-justifying creature that is Mao is... well-suited to living. He has traits that keep him alive. They aren't good traits, from I guess a humanist perspective (my perspective), but they're excellent traits from an evolutionary "survive and pass on your genes" perspective.

Not to say that Nagi is enlightened or anything, she got duped and is essentially still duped (since she's traumatized, not her fault per se) by this predator, into having much lower self worth than is fair, and so I guess her low self worth leads her to see her "bad at living" traits through a negative lens instead of grasping that Mao's "good at living" traits are fucked up and deplorable.

If Reiji has his way, it'll become a lot more debatable whether Mao is actually "good at living" lol lmao.

I liked that first part of yours but after confessing to some one that you love her and next moment she opens up full to you and gives you her trust... It looks like Reiji's abyss is growing and about to swallow everything around him.

Reiji's face on page 7. That look shook Nagi to her core (hence the shaky eyes). His abyss is a lot deeper and darker than his mother's. I'm sure it's the same look he gave Yuri when they were having sex, and we only see Yuri's reaction on page 19.

I'm not sure if this growing abyss is because he feels that Nagi is a kindred person, or he understands that Nagi should not have become this way, and he wants to "fix" the situation by ending Mao's life because of the trauma he inflicted on Nagi through a combination of emotional manipulation, sexual abuse, and Survivor's guilt.

Let's see just how dark his abyss has become...

Really glad to see him so proactive now but boy, all of them are such a piece of work, that's realistically too much for one dude to deal with. So I hope Reiji will help people from now on to save themselves, instead of looking in him an answer to all their problems. Which seems more likely for the ending, rather than this intense, satisfying, and a bit illegal turn. (I still hope Reiji will ruin Mao's life before being mature about all this tho)
