I'd be interested in applying for the proofreader position! I've passed the initial proofreader test for Helvetica Scans but never followed up on any projects due to university commitments. I'd love to give it a shot!

Hey I'm Viraz! I think I could be of help as redrawer and/or typesetter, and it depends on how detailed you want the redraws to be which one I could do mainly. Here's a collection of my redrawing job, both in color and b&w:

(As a note, the last one is quite old, and I wasn't able to find the raw, so I used the finished version for comparison)
And for my typesetting work, anything I've uploaded in the last 2 or 3 months should give you a pretty good idea of how I typeset https://mangadex.org/user/3089/viraz .
I'll be patiently waiting.

I'm willing to help out on some Japanese -> English translations, but do not have the time to be the sole translator of a small team. I have several years of experience translating novels and doujins

Hi, I'm interested in working as a translator and proofreader. I have experience in doing both, in groups and privately (though I haven't been active recently). My (very old) site is here (https://ansibs.livejournal.com/), but some of the links are dead so just tell me if you want me to reupload something. I also worked on the RK movie novels here (https://www.tumblr.com/blog/anon8059).

As a side note, I also worked two years in a translation firm in Tokyo. I also know Mandarin Chinese, but only traditional, and I've never tried to translate from it before, though I do read/own Chinese manga. Unfortunately I can't read simplified Chinese.

I hope to hear back from you soon!

If you ever come across a manga with furigana you need a TL for I'd be interested in helping with that. I can and have translated without furigana before but it takes significantly longer so I'd rather only do that with works I personally like.

I could also proofread/edit/TL-check.

Sup! I'm willing to apply if you're okay with low frequency but quality work, I'm a typesetter and redrawer.

I don't have a portfolio of stuff I've done but if it's necessary just tell me, I'll do the digging. Ty.

>Enlist today and never leave your computer again!

Not the most encouraging pick-up line you have there.

That aside, picking up dropped/dead projects is a pretty cool idea. Wish you guys luck and wouldn't mind collaborating further down the line. I believe partnering up with smaller scanlation groups would probably be a good idea.

I can help with typesetting (roughly a year of experience with different groups) and maybe some basic redrawing (that I do on my spare time)!

Hello guys! I'd like to apply for the position of Typesetter/Proofreader.

As for my past experience, i've been working on the typeset of Attack On Titan for r/shingekinokyojin since the past 4-5 chapters. So approximately 7-8 pages each chapter is done by me.
For proofreading, i'm very fluent in English as its my first language (I'm not a native english speaker).

Hope to have a positive feedback!

Can you pick up the Shima Kousaku series, Tsuki ni Hoeran nee and other gems less known to non-japanese readers, please? We need some top tier manga to balance the increasing amount of low effort isekai. Also, will the team be English only or will you have a team for several languages?

PS: Here’s a handy typesetting guide for beginners by u/kah0922 from Hunter Nightblood: https://imgur.com/a/BThmUKZ

Hi, I'm interested in applying for translation/proofreading.
I can translate from Japanese to English.

I've had some limited experience in translating and checking webpages, flyers and emails for a Japanese company which ran language classes and culture workshops. (Approximately 1 year)

I've also done some light interpreting for Japanese homestay tour groups visiting schools in Australia on a casual basis.

In terms of English literacy, I am doing a postgraduate course in teaching currently. As a result, I've spent a lot of time writing and checking for errors, and I've also had to meet minimum literacy standards for teachers here in Australia.

I can help out with redrawing. Don't have a lot of past experience, but I use photoshop a fair amount to draw and have quite a bit of freetime.
