This is one of the sweetest and funniest manga I've ever read (I already bought it). Please give EvolvingMonkey the support they deserve!

She has a horsehair worm coiled around her leg. The artist points it out on one of his illustrations, too:

I kinda expected this to be a cannibalistic gorefest with cute looking girls.
Technically, I was right about 2 thirds of my assumption

The mantis and grasshopper look fine, but the spider and scorpion are basically not designed at all. Literally just put a spider/scorpion on a girl.

These character designs kind of, er, bug me. While they sit into the cute and quirky category that works out excellent for a 4-koma series, their insectoid physical features appear to be more relevant to their personality traits than anything. Which isn't inherently bad, but then you end up with designs that literally look like half a spider/scorpion bolted to their head. The little action shots in the character design sketches are much more interesting, where they're actually using their distinctive qualities. (Compare and contrast to the Jingai Shunman series [which is H].)

The character designs of at least the first two characters are awesome, and the artist almost manages to make the bugs look genuinely tasty in the first chapter.

Sure, the artist gets a bit lazy after that and mostly relies on humour (which is great and spot-on, if nerdy, so that's fine), but they can really do it when they try. XD
