Well physical manga are like actually double-paged. Sometimes there's like mini-cliffhangers on even pages which get answered in the next page. That's just good use of the medium (except for when some pages are pointless or paced weirdly with nothing to add)
Digitally single page makes more sense especially if you're using a smartphone.

Well, not to worry you too much, but the same people spend hours watching videos from Youtube in the same device... can you imagine watching a three hour film in one? Well, they would if they didn't need to divert their attention every few seconds/minutes...
