This morning, May 14th, I was reading Shangri-la Frontier, and I stopped at chapter 168. However, now when I went to continue, the chapters had disappeared, now there are only a few on the main page of the manga, which are:

  • Ch. 216 to 220 in Portuguese (Br) and Spanish (LATAM);
  • Ch. 175 to 187 in Vietnamese;
  • Ch. 1 to 3 in English
And this is the link to the last chapter I read this morning, Ch. 167, that was in my history:

https://mangadex.org/chapter/3a657a47-f152-44e2-8aca-8272374068ee/16

But i have on my history links of each page since Ch. 125, which is where I started, but any of this pages are showing now, only the ones I listed above.

Yeah I read a lot of stuff on Webtoons and some of their series are laughable. They DMCA fans who put out flawless translations as a hobby when they can't even be assed to proofread for typos and then charge money for it.
I wouldn't say flawless because there are many fan translations that are shit as well. The real difference is many professional translators in anime/manga just see it as a job and don't actually like the stuff they are working on.

Yeah some are bad, some are good, some are truly professional level, thats what I was getting at anyway. These companies will DMCA work that is objectively better than their official release and wonder why the money isn't pouring in. Bc you're selling an inherently shit product. Nobody wants to waste their hard earned money, especially in this economy, when you can't even bother to proof read.

Another example that was taken down in this latest DMCA, Fumetsu no anata e, I find the official translation unreadable bc they changed a number of the characters names, the main character included. I just can't take "Immo" and "Iddy" seriously. They'll never get my money for that kinda translation. Loved the series (or at least the first arc) But man, I thought that publishers got the memo back in the 2000's about leaving the Japanese names alone lol.

Many official translations have a lot of translations errors, and almost no easy way to get the publisher to get those errors rectified.
Lol, while I agree unofficial translations are usually better. Getting them to correct obvious errors is usually futile too. For both cases of "good" scanlators and shady manhwa "scanlators" like Asura, utoon, etc.

A lot of them are in it for money. And won't spend extra time to correct things. Probably some kind of min-max hustle culture grindset BS. They don't care about quality as long as they get money.
