Yeah, I get it. New girl was introduced to allow the author to put the already slow romance part of the story on the backburner. This also allows him to dodge further discussion about Yumeji and Chieri's... physical issues facing their budding romance, while this new but unfortunately, annoying character takes up screentime.

For some reason I now want to see some civil engineering channel on Youtube do a video on why a riverside embankment failed while having 2 giant girls on it at the same time

to some degree you're right, but i think her backstory is kinda intriguing. the "i must overachieve so people will like me" character isn't exactly an uncommon one, but it's also pretty realistic. it seems like she had a very difficult time after she got big, so i can kinda sympathize with her. if you went through all that suffering and some rando who came after you is loved, i can definitely understand why she'd be pissed, especially since she knew nothing about chieri as a person. she's not my favorite character or anything, but (if the author actually bothers to do anything with her other than tsundere bullshit) she has the potential to be really interesting
