Thank you for the translation!

The tension is mounting and our glorious MC is just about to enact some mayhem- ahem, justice!

What a twisted lady this saint is. If she was sent by Truck-kun, I suspect the driver stopped and backed over her for good measure.

The one within the Villainess did this kind of scene in a satisfying manner in about 2-3 chapters? This in comparison feels like its being milked dry.
Tbf, The One Within the Villainess spent it's whole run showing you how the mc wove the noose for the heroine to hang herself with.

This MC seems to largely just wait and react to the heroine's bs when it shows up. She might prepare but, it waits till things blow up to show it for the most part so far.

I can't say that's necessarily a bad thing but, the former definitely feels better written than the latter for sure.

I wonder what will be the first defense she is going to present. Throwing the their memories were altered card too early is going to damn her so she has to build it up until the right moment.

It would still be difficult.
Brandolini's law: The amount of energy needed to refute bullshit is an order of magnitude bigger than that needed to produce it.
but shes not really accused of any kind of crime, and theres no proof to back it up, all she has to do is muddle their accusations enough that people cant really say they're true, and since shes going second she gets the last word

The One Within the Villainess used the confrontation as the final bit of pay off.

This manga is trying to use the confrontation as the major conflict, which kind of works. I think that more of the story should have been dedicated to setting up what they were doing, so it comes off like a proper confrontation. Right now, either character can pull anything and it would be on the table, because we are being told what they did to prepare while the conflict is going on.

As for now, its better just to wait untill this whole arc gets released and translated, makes it more satisfying in binge reading rather then read and get annoyed because how drawn-out it is.

It's also why it seems like it's dragging on, from where I'm sitting.

I also imagine it's a matter of pacing the amount of info that will ultimately be divulged; this chapter had to focus solely on introducing all the players in what's to come, because whatever's being revealed by each of them might be so in-depth that squeezing it into the same ~35 page chapter would result in a novel's worth of text instead of a graphic novel manga, and having to "break" it apart across multiple chapters means that finding natural pause moments will necessitate spacing things out in such a way that we end up with "intro"/exposition chapters like this to avoid unnatural and awkward pacing issues.

So while the chapter felt like nothing, maybe it's to not break up the flow of the actual "trial" and all the info dumping that's coming out way.

Plus, gotta end on that dramatic cliff hanger whenever possible.
