Saburouta really doesn't know what to do anymore. And what's going on with the panel work. They're talking about a school matter and the panels looks like she thinks Mei should be dating the guy. I really hope Saburouta doesn't end up expanding this in the future. it's a yuri manga and it doesn't look like it

Mei and Yuzu relationship barely moved, and even saying that is a stretch, everything is long in this story :fml:
It’s funny because in the original citrus we had many intimate scenes & the relationship progression was very significant. But with the sequel, the intimate scenes has been very limited and heavily linked to the plot point. It’s almost as the mangaka found her comfort zone in publishing pace, moving the plot and balancing intimate scenes..
I think this is what the mangaka wanted to do all along.
It’s slow but It’s not bad..

In Citrus in 41 chapters they went from couldn't stand each others to lovers, here in 38 chapters, what happened? Nothing, Mei went back to being a robot not showing any sense of affection while Yuzu is thirsty for it...
I'm not saying it's bad, it's just way too slow for me

I understand where she comes from (she "projects" herself when she was left in the dark to Arata being left in the dark, or something like that) but telling him without talking it out with Mei could backfire a lot.

People -rightfully- says that their relationship is not moving and improving in this sequel, this series of events can even make it regress.

Yeah. I understand where you are coming from. It was weird to see Mei who was very physically intimate with Yuzu before their wedding. Now she’s suddenly not and like you mentioned, emotionless..
it gives the impression that the mangaka was forced to have a fast paced plot in her previous serialization. Whereas here she has all the independence and creative liberty to do what she wants.
That would make sense as to why the mangaka made then wed when they were barely 18.

We are on average 7 chapters a year for both manga, at this pace the story will be finished after i get married and have kids

Sometimes Haru just shows up in an outfit and you're reminded just how absurdly hot she is.
The previous arc did try to follow Haru’s subconscious attraction towards yuzu but she didn’t even let her guard down, denied it vehemently and she later got kissed by Mizusawa… maybe the next thing after this is Haru going abroad or something..

It doesn't seem like the author's found balance? It's the same themes playing over and over again with less smut which is fine. There was a comment about + being plot focused but the plot to me is about these to characters falling in love with some dramatic incidents that help strengthen their love. So far It's just a recurring theme of Yuzu and Mei sharing misunderstandings and troubles that are ultimately resolved by Yuzu making a move to understand Mei better and accept Mei's reasoning. Which I understand that Yuzu is a main character but I was given to believe that a romantic relationship involves two people so Mei should have a standing slightly closer to Yuzu.

The only one who's demonstrated a semblance of growth is Yuzu but even then, she's crossing boundaries and placing herself in situations where she really doesn't have any business to. The only difference is she's not as impulsive which is great. I mean seriously, she cares so much about Arata's situation? A guy she's met like twice? I get that we're supposed to buy she has a kind sensitive heart but to carry this much guilt over a 'friendship' that hasn't even existed for a month?

Yet the love of her life, Mei, was shown to be moving forward with her emotions in the early stages of Citrus +. But now 30 chapters later she's at a standstill. She's not advanced, remained her cold logical self, and I guess after so many chapters some are left wondering if she will ever grow or will it always be Yuzu's understanding and devoted nature that'll carry their relationship? It just doesn't feel like a partnership, nowhere near it really after this many chapters. I suppose the earlier chapters gave me the impression that this Citrus + would focus more on Mei's side of the relationship, that in lieu of physicality we would be shown emotional intimacy in its place. Original Citrus was Yuzu running around all over the place chasing and reacting for Mei.

Now Citrus + feels extremely repetitive because it's still Yuzu's jealousy and insecurity contributing most to the romantic drama. Mei's still oblivious to her sensitive partners feelings. It's Yuzu chasing after whatever crumbs Mei has to offer. Maybe a re-read of the entire Citrus manga along with Citrus + will change my mind though. It could just be the wait in between chapters that's making Mei feel extremely stale.

So, depending on what that application form is about, Harumi is about to go off somewhere? Not a huge fan of hers unlike most, so wouldn't be the worst thing for me (especially if that coincides with Matsuri tagging along, since I actively dislike her here in +). Cue Yuzu telling Arata what's up, him already having been informed and Mei getting upset at Yuzu's perceived lack of trust. Triple whammy for Yuzu, since the whole manga seems to be intent on making her suffer as much as possible. That whole wedding thing is starting to seem less and less likely as time goes on, especially as Arata seems to be getting more and more focus. Maybe it's just turning into a more "normal" shoujo romance story with a little yuri subtext. I personally don't think I can stick around for these glacial developments.

Feels like a drag. I wonder if anybody at all is actually interested in this 'school / business / this random guy forgot his name' stuff. I didn't wait 5 months for that. I don't know what's going on anymore. Anyhow, see you in 5 months.
