It's always so funny to me when in there's an event in a romcom manga, like this party or the omnipresent matsuri, the girls are stunning with their dresses/yukatas, hairstyles and make up, and the guy is like, uniform, or plain t shirt and shorts :meguu:

I think its because everyone was mostly using uniforms to identify themselves but there was bo rule against dressing up.

Since Umi wanted to impress Maki, the friends followed though to have fun lol

Let me say that i am f**** disappointment about how he answered her proposal she is a nice person really not only she destroyed a happily made family now she wants to destroy a loving mother's heart and u say she a nice person she is horrible person no matter how u look at it and the father deserves to be sad you made a choice now u have to accept the consequences of ur decisions if u loved ur son you should never did what u did

She didnt destroy a happily made family. Its not because of her that they broke up.

You are heavily misunderstanding because there was no cheating (Allegedly)

Someone please remind me, who are these two girls at the end ? It doesn't ring a bell at all somehow.

Something this reminded me of is how different family dynamics are culturally. Like he's in high school so from my US perspective it's past mattering which parent he "lives with" and then I remember that in Japan people will continue living with their parents until they get married and possibly even after.

I genuinely think it's nice they had that dialogue though despite the previous paragraph I feel like "living" with the dad is off the table. ESPECIALLY after graduation. At that stage in life you need more stability as you're advancing toward a career or in a career (whether you go straight into a workforce or higher Ed). You can't bounce between parents to try and recapture a childhood that ended several years ago. I'd just shoot for more visits and frequent talks if I were the dad. Really the same goes for the mom. Despite living together at least from what we've seen there's definitely a "distance" there.

Heck, look at movie premiers. I remember you had ladies in elegant gowns... and then there's Jack Black and another dude in jeans and tshirts.
I think that says more about Jack Black than anything 😂. There's definitely different expectations for men and women when it comes to dressing out for these events (patriarchy sexist societal norms and whatnot), but at the end of the day men at movie premieres are still expected to dress up somewhat. Jack Black just didn't. There's also a lot of money that goes into what celebrities are wearing and fashion companies pay a lot for that essentially advertising. More of that is geared toward women because again societal norms, women and fashion, but still Jack Black not caring at all is more Jack Black not caring at all.

Benefit of the doubt in this case, the MC did say his school uniform was the best and most expensive outfit he owned so... yeah. Doesn't change that the author still made that conscious decision, but the author doesn't care because they know the target demographic generally doesn't care. If this was a shoujo or male harem for a female lead the situation would be reversed. Actually at the end of the day in real life and in manga, it all comes down to money and marketing. We truly do live in a society.

We don't really know what happened but boy did the father start dating so quickly after the divorce. Also he didn't really try to talk to him that much.
I put this in spoilers to correct some things as a novel reader.
So first off no he never cheated on his wife that is made explicitly clear in the novel. Secondly, don't know if the manga will go into it or has already said I don't remember the previous chapters that well but she's the one who asked him out after she found out he divorced. As for how soon after the split it was one month after but still I wouldn't say its too soon after-all everyone does things or move on differently and at different paces I don't blame the dad for that after such a long relationship. That's the sad and realistic thing about this both parents are good people and they just drifted apart over time for multiple reasons there isn't a bad guy in this situation both of them take equal fault for their marriage falling apart. Edit: just re read this part of the novel, and correction if anything the mom is in the wrong currently in this case because you find our later in this arc that she's refusing the alimony which is more then enough for her not to work and to be home and raise Maki and is over working herself basically out of pride because she feels she doesn't need the support from the dad. He gets mad because he figured out that Maki is doing all the house work because of this. So while yes she chose to work it was mostly out a need to distract herself from the divorce and it isn't okay given she is indirectly neglecting her son.

I mean nothing indicates. They already said why they started dating fast. She liked him since before, and when she learned he was getting divorced, she started to attack like crazy which I think its totally fair...

So yeah, still not because of her

most of the thing you've said here already shown in the manga in the past chapter if you really read the manga:slap:
