although the anime was a big hit and bringing new people to the manga for moments with maki and umi, I feel like these chapters are straying away from seki and Yuu development hopefully we get more of that in the future

Spoiler: Seriously big spoilers

It never happens. Yuu falls in love with Maki. She feels terrible about it, and attempts to keep the feelings bottled up. Yuu even tries to make herself fall for Seki instead, but it doesn't work. Eventually, Umi and Maki basically push Yuu to confess. Of course, it causes strain to the friendships for a while, but they eventually move past it. (Maki never wavers an inch. Umi is the only one for him, period)

God I hope not in the main storyline. But if the author makes a Scum's Wish spinoff or side story of this that'd be hilarious imo
