Decent light(ish) romance drama. I wouldn't say romcom as the comedic elements aren't that heavily emphasized and that's okay. Honestly - it's a rare entry in the field that feels enriching rather than hollow or formulaic.

That the protagonist's flaws are born from relatable/realistically grounded trauma is brilliant. That the FMC has her own flaws and challenges outside of her relationship with the MC is refreshing. I could have enjoyed a longer arc with her resenting being compared all the time and the blowout from that, but whatever - pacing is a minor issue in the grand scheme of things

Maybe this could have been wrapped up 5 or 6 issues ago if this was aiming to be a pure/dense piece of fiction? There don't seem to be any trauma stones left to turn over. However, I'm enjoying the vibes so long may it run.

This manga is really great in my opinion! The romance qualities are definitely in there and they do seem quite realistic in terms of how relationships are like, of course ignoring the fact that in the beginning the mc and fmc both coincedentally enjoy the same things. But that doesn't make the manga worse in any case in my opinion. I hope the mangaka keeps up the good work and expands upon their close relationship and doesn't rush things or create a horrid ending that quite a few romcom/romance animes have (Love is war rushed ending!!). Anyway, the manga is a nice 9/10 in my opinion as its slower paced, good slice of life with relatability and has good characters, the only flaw I kind of see with it right now is the lack of side characters though, there's not a lot and they dont really impact the story much (other than yuu, the 2 girls who snaked on umi and maki's parents). Anime adaptation though has really good pacing and is a banger!
