Credit where credit is due. The aunt is the only adult in his family so far that legit cares what someone else wants over their own wants. She is entirely doing what she is doing for her daughter and even respects her will enough to back down.
She also seems to actually care about him as well, but puts him second to her daughter.

With a lot of imagination I can understand the jealousy of his father, being inferior to his young son and being passed over as heir. But what is the point of his mother openly disdaining him? Even as a shitty mom who neglected her son, you would expect the average golddigger to suck up to the designated heir to secure her own privileged lifestyle. Gramps had to be aware that Saito was being abused by his parents and just let it slide. Not a single adult in Saito's clan is worth shit.
