Additional perks for most digital services being quite restricted on if they actually support your country, if something goes wrong or even are accessible from your country, TOUGH LUCK! :02:

It's ironic that Webtoon seems to be still the best online reading service, though it deals in webtoons only, not manga.

Same, though I stopped buying because I just ran out of shelf space for books.
Also, due to limited availability here, it's really hard to actually buy a full series. I still have Aria missing one volume, I think it was 6, because it's not available from any domestic stores here. Would have to order it from Amazon or something and I dislike that. Additionally, there even isn't an Amazon Finland, so once again "if anything goes wrong, tough!".

Amusingly, I today checked how much would it cost to physically buy Yokohama Kaidashi Kikou from the English publisher and it was $25 a pop (+ delivery). I remember, when most mango cost at most 10€.

I was still baffled they had an official Reddit for their "community", instead of some on-site or partially hidden forums.
Talk about waving the flag before a bull...
That's why I love the French's passion for comic books, it's like 8 euros for one book, 5 for digital, one of the biggest libraries in the country has half its store capacity filled with manga, and they licence almost everything, even hentai.

I'm sick n tired of the every more regulated internet - meanwhile they offer no legal alternative. Give us Netflix ( from the good old days, not todays) for manga and I'd happily pay. One site that has everything with a proper layout and tools. Instead they nuke the fan translations who are superior without offering any alternative....

You want something more like steam for Manga and Anime.
Also... Have you heard of the indieweb?
And generally Alternative Frontends for websites

there were only a few ones that got "exclusively" uploaded there that ill miss (until i find them again) (looking at you amai seikatsu)

Kakao is the absolute fucking worst. Do these companies think that this will mean an automatic increase in sales if they shutdown these sites? I read manga that are old as shit that would never get brought over and I also read manga that have a far better translation than most "official" ones. It's not worth the money.

Do have to agree - this seems like Kakao asking for a group of manga fan hackers to obliterate their web presence. Not that I would condone that kind of behavior, of course.

It's a positive sum whatever they do. The people that don't pay for manga/scans won't pay even if you chase them around the internet. The casual will still buy their bi-monthly One Piece manga and their Premium Berserk release. The only thing that could change is the semi-casual, too lazy to track 8 discord channels, 10 Cubari links & setting a VPS to read Viz scans, that might give up.

Comick was the best site, which I have experience, although it doesn't have the manga translated but illustration cover only, most important is they have all the chapters preserve.

But Mangadex have became a terrible site, because all the series suddenly revealed unavailable chapters, which were supposed to be preserved permanently and can read anytime, example: Mikadono Sisters have over 150 chapters, but not available from 1 to 150. And BATO revealed some series was permanently deleted.

And to boot, they too are quite limited in what they offer. Way to sell a shitty service by amassing ill-will, a bold plan let's see how it turns out.

Nothing is permanent on internet, start archiving before the end of this year if you're European because a lot will change.

There was a DMCA. The alternative was the whole site gets nuked. Not thrilled about it either, but clearly the lesser of two evils.
