Also, do you think this chapter merits a "sexual violence" and/or "gore" tag? I couldn't find any explanation for when those tags are appropriate so it seems to be mostly a vibes thing, and I'm not sure if those tags would help or hurt understanding, so please let me know your thoughts!

Considering you can't tag individual chapters on mangadex, those tags are best reserved for when they represent a core theme for the entirety of the story, not just a single chapter (though if the imagery in that one chapter is enough to give you nightmares, that can warrant tagging the whole manga for it).

Gore is best used for when the violence depicted is absolutely visceral: uncensored bones, guts, and bloody body parts everywhere. This is relatively tame compared to what is usually tagged as Gore.

Both the gore and the sexual violence tags would give a somewhat misleading impression of the manga as a whole; on the other hand, as others have pointed out, if they're a soft or trigger point for someone they would definitely appreciate having the warning. That's why I'm kind of torn. It's a lot easier on e.g. Dynasty where you can tag individual chapters, but on Mangadex it's more of a judgment call. I'll wait for some more feedback and then decide.

In regards to the tags, I think it's valid here. Red tags, for the most part, feel more like warning tags than thematic tags. Like, people typically won't make use of the Gore or Sexual Violence tags for finding a manga with them, they'll use it for finding a manga without them.

Better safe than sorry here.

Regarding the tags, I do not think sexual violence applies, as nothing really happened. The gore part could go either way. It is not like we have gore in every chapter.

I think Gore 100% fits, but idk about Sexual Violence... while I wont deny its happened... I dont think its really frequent enough to justify the tag. If it were a constant, then yeah, Id agree wholeheartedly, but its been a rarity at this stage, so I dont think Sexual Violence really fits.

And no, being a victim shouldnt really elevate judgement, as this is a more objective call, and as it is, gore has been much more prevalent than the Sexual Violence. Sorry it happened, but I just dont think it applies here with all due respect. By that virtue, any story with blood (doesnt even matter if its minor or nah) would fall under gore, and it'd just be a mess to categorize.

Hmm. This could be a good compromise -- not have the sexual violence tag, just a content warning for this particular chapter. It would ruin some of the surprise though. But that's probably worth it overall. I'll talk it over with the rest of the team. Thanks for the suggestion!
