Also, do you think this chapter merits a "sexual violence" and/or "gore" tag? I couldn't find any explanation for when those tags are appropriate so it seems to be mostly a vibes thing, and I'm not sure if those tags would help or hurt understanding, so please let me know your thoughts!

I had found this myself while searching for info a while back, but those descriptions are still vague. Indeed, a different user even posted the same question I had about the "Sexual Violence" tag as a comment on the Google doc. I understand there's only so much you can do but I do wish Mangadex could write up some more detailed descriptions for their tags tbh.

I'm just going to say use both the tags. I normally avoid things with gore and usually sexual violence (unless it's a very particular type of story). That could have the effect of turning away someone like me who can in fact enjoy this story. Nonetheless, I think first priority must be having content warnings to aid trauma survivors. Since we've had two rape attempts relatively early on, it's enough to tag the series IMO. A character pinning someone down and making their intentions known while referencing their genitalia is exactly the sort of content that might be upsetting to a trauma survivor.

On a somewhat related topic, I'm not sure this is a true attempt. It may have simply been an attempt to draw the worm out of hiding to get more information.

Hmm, interesting to see a perspective of sexual violence which frames it rather explicitly as a tool of degradation. It's not due to an urge to have sex, but from an urge to hurt. I think that's a good analysis of it, personally.

his purpose is intriguing, but it seems like a never-ending cycle to me. if everyone conforms to be like itou, laughs at all her jokes, does everything she does... doesn't she become the new "norm"? and in that case, anyone else is "monster" or "weird"? so wouldn't he have to change his goal again to kill everyone like itou? unless he means he specifically dislikes the current norm that society upholds, which i highly doubt.
