Hello everyone!

I hope I'm posting in the right forum here but as we have been translating the "AFTERSCHOOL BITCHCRAFT" we are in a bit of dilemma...

Yen Press has just announced they've licensed the series and will begin to publish in... 2020 (!!!): https://yenpress.com/2019/07/new-yen-press-licenses-announced-at-ax2019/

Do we continue? drop it now that it licensed? is there a policy on this that we need to abide to...?

Overall it is not our intention to compete or impede series that are licensed, we thought nobody would be picking this up from the English publishers.

Thanks!

MD basically has no problem whatsoever so long as you do not use the official translations, even if you continue to translate after official releases come out

There may be legal restrictions in your area, or you may feel moral obligations to stop, but MD lets you decide on that. If you feel like you would be impeding sales (and are against that), then you can decided to stop translating and/or take down content as you see fit.

@nevian70gr I've been reading that title (Afterschool Bitchcraft).
Personally English is not my country first language so I believe the official English version of that Manga will never be released for my country, hence if you guys stop your translation people like me will have quite a hard time to read that title.

Of course at the end of the day, it's up to you guys.
If you want to stop, by all means stop and I will still respect your decision.

It's up to you guys. Sometimes groups continue even after licensing because the official releases are going to come out months or years after they are out in Japan.

The only strong case for dropping after licensing is if the English chapters come out as soon as the Japanese chapters come out in Japan, as there's no point in continuing (like the WSJ titles)
