Thanks for the chapter! Of course it would be that dumb bureaucrat igniting a veiled war in the middle of Tokyo; it'll be interesting to see how MCs powers will compare to those experienced soldiers if it comes down to it

Getting spicy. Just wish we could pick up the plot a little faster. Not enough pages per month to move forward at this pace...

That said thank you so much for scanlating this! This kind of feels like The Gate but on a much smaller scale.

Shit. Just. Got. REAL.
This is going to be a very interesting arc. If handled correctly, we'll get to see the extremes the major powers (lol Russia still considered to be part of that group in 2023) will go to obtain and advantage over one another. Glad to see the US side was shown to be ruthless as they would most definitely be when it came to national security. Our protagonists better prepare themselves for an absolute showdown. And to think they have two Orbs, not one for sale!
Oh, and I expect a dedicated chapter to see how the JDA Exec Director gets his ass chewed by the entire fucking government and exiled to a Motor Registry role for his arrogance.

I'm guessing the main cast will be nowhere near Tokyo and everyone else will be doing a Mexican standoff against each other

JDA executive might have started a war just because he's a cheapskate and doesn't want to pay up

Yeah, I'm really not too impressed with our protagonists here. They are in possession of something they know is going to make governments all over the globe sit up and take notice. Something that wars could easily be fought over. Something that the big nations are going to be mobilizing their top tier espionage assets for.

This is serious shit, and they may have outfoxed some low-level flunkies before, they should now realize that they are stepping into a whole different level. Maybe--just maybe--two wannabe adventurers might not be prepared for the massed forces of the world's powers. Whole organizations that are specialized in doing what it takes to get the dirty deeds done without being caught.

They already have contacts in other departments. Perhaps they should have done an end run around fish-face and double-checked things, considering that trillions of yen are potentially at stake? Much better that they deal with the Japanese government in some form, since they have done so in the past, even at a couple of orders of magnitude less money offered than sticking out their necks in the middle of a bunch of neck-cutting enthusiasts.

I realize that our twenty-something protagonists are both fairly superhuman by now, so they may be feeling a little cocky. But setting aside that the other governments all have their own superhumans, and guns, and bombs, and poisons, and other forms of death, there are other ways that they are vulnerable--hostages. People in their families, friends, acquaintances, busloads of schoolchildren. And that is just what I can think of off the top of my head. How many other ways would a ruthless espionage agency have of making you do exactly what they want? I don't know, and I guarantee our protagonists don't know, but the agencies all know and are very practiced in these kinds of situations.

Little did we know that the skill orb was actually an Idiot Ball in disguise!

Too expensive, drone them boys! Maybe this is just an excuse for them to just camp in and make a proper living inside the dungeon.I dont remember if they could pull out from the auction but I imagine they will and use the orb themselves.
